Setting New Goals for December plus evaluating November goals

• prepare for Bonnie Hunter Mystery Think this is officially a bust. Maybe I will get to it but its so much fabric. Just not happy to invest in that much when I don't know if I'll like it. I want to work from my stash and that is officially how hers in done but I am not confident the colours I have will work.

• Put Amy Gibson blocks together Nope not done. Hope to do it this coming week

Now for December

Make 2 more casserole carriers. I made 2 this past week. I have orders for another one (although not the dimensions required for it) and I want one for myself. People were asking for them at our previous stalls so I can make more to sell for the Handmade Love.
Work on POD quilt - make map block and rolled parchment block (waiting for the fabric to arrive for the map). This is for Fangirl's birthday so need to have it done by Feb.

Hexie Quilt Make 175 hexies (enough full ones to finish the quilt) - actually have already done about 25 of these so am underway.Make 41 half hexies. I will have to find the pattern for them. Guess I can just print out the full hexies and cut in half. That will work! Work out pattern for stitching Hexies together.

Work on Diamonds and Dashes quilt from Missouri Star. I've cut the 5"x10" rectangles. Need a few more cut and also have to get the fabric for the dashes and diamonds. I had hoped to look for the sashing fabric whilst in Rocky yesterday but didn't get time.

Put elephant parade quilt together. The baby that this is to be for has arrived.  I made the blocks earlier in the year. Now I have to work out exactly how to put it together. 

Work on Hashtag quilt. The blocks from the Twilter block swap have arrived and now need to go into a quilt

Work on Amy Gibson quilt 

Monday Musings Monthly goals update

I've got one week remaining to make an impression on my monthly goals. Some of them are not looking good. But lets start with the positives

I have completed all the blocks I had listed as goals for my POD quilt and even made a couple extra. And I've made 200 hexies so have over achieved there already.

Make some Christmas gifts 

I've made 6 wall hangings for Christmas gifts so that is another goal completed. For photos go here

Complete Ella's Quilt 

I'm making progress on Ella's quilt. Its pin basted so next up is the quilting. I am supposed to get it done by the end of November so that means I have to work on it this week. I think I will need to buy some thread as not sure what I have will work. I think I will shadow stitch it ie not in the ditch but 1/4 inch in from the seams of the sashing. I will leave the heart squares alone. I love stippling but think I will keep this a bit more simple. 

prepare for Bonnie Hunter Mystery

I've done no preparation at all for the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt. I am not sure I am going to do it. I really don't want to go and invest in a heap more fabric. I would rather work from my stash but don't think I will have enough of the required colours.

I haven't made any headway in the Droid quilt nor have I looked at the Amy Gibson quilt blocks.

My main aim for the rest of this month is to get Ella's quilt done. If I get that done I will reassess what my next priority will be. I do want to make a couple of hanging towels as gifts as well. I don't have a purpose in mind for the Amy Gibson quilt and that is a bit of a deterrent to finishing it. I am waiting on some fabric for my POD quilt and if that comes in then I am pretty sure that is going to be a priority for finishing. I was going to make Moody's Eye to go under the bookshelf but Fangirl isn't too keen so might give it a miss

And I have an idea for another quilt I do want to make and it does have a recipient in line for it so I think it is going to take over as my next major project. Bonnie Hunter is probably going to bite the dust. I am still keen on Droid quilt so.... we will see

Goal Review - mid month

Its the middle of the month and time to look back again on my goals and see how things are progressing. I really like to do this as I feel it keeps me on track.

• Make some pot mitts, hanging towels etc as gifts I've made some progress on the wall hangings
• prepare for Bonnie Hunter Mystery I've ordered the two rulers she recommends for this quilt. I hope I use them a lot. They haven't arrived yet. I was going to ask my kids for them for Christmas but got impatient
• start Droid quilt no progress on this at all
• Put Amy Gibson blocks together No progress on this at all
• make Nimbus POD block Its done. I finished it Friday night and I am thrilled by how it turned out.
•  
• Make Dobby POD Block This was done but then I realised I had a problem with one piece and so I unpicked it and another piece and then lost them so now I have to redo them. I can't believe I lost them! AND THEN I realised I HAD done it according to the pattern. I think it looks a bit weird so Fixit Guy suggested I redesign that piece. I balked at the idea but he is confident of my ability and said... just redraw the lines where you want them... now that does make it seem simpler. (I love his belief in my abilities)
• remove Paper from POD rows DONE In fact the bookshelf itself is all sewn together. 
• Make Percy's Fiez block DONE
• make Flying Keys POD block DONE
• make Cornish Pixie POD block DONE - She's called Effie cause my language with her wasn't good. I had lots of unpicking and such. She's very cute though
• Make POD photo frame block DONE - Actually 2 are done and they look pretty good. I had to redesign the block as my photos were a different size. This was a first for me and I was pleased with the end result. My first paper pieced block design 
• Make 100 hexagons - DONE I have met my goal. I actually have 137 completed now. I had 67 done before the all day meetings (well 9-2) yesterday. I thought that I might get more made and actually had over 100 prepped hexies with me but when you consider that 5 hour period included breaks for lunch and morning tea, that I was giving one of the talks and that there was also 3 brackets of singing. Really I could only stitch whilst other people were talking so 45 was a reasonable number to get through.  I made another 24 in church this morning so under 300 full hexies to go plus the fillers... and then I have to sew them all together.

I'm adding a new goal. I've been asked to put together the blocks made by a group I am involved with, to make a quilt to go to the daughter of a former member of our group who died in June from cancer. We aren't a quilting group but the women in our group sewed these 6.5" heart blocks for our friends children. She had 3 children and we are making a quilt for each of them. There are a few in the group that are quilters and we have taken on the task of putting the blocks together and quilting them. I received the blocks trimmed to size ready to be sewn. The parcel included the fabric for the sashing, cornerstones, binding and backing. Ideally they would like it done by the end of November. 

• Complete Ella's quilt I've made great progress on this already. The top is together - now to cut the backing fabric, pin baste and quilt it!

Monday Musing - Goal Review

I saw a meme on facebook once which of course I now can't find but it went something along the lines of my house is never so tidy as when I am avoiding something else. It was certainly true of both Fangirl and Boyo when they were or are supposed to be studying for their university exam they have very tidy bedrooms.

Well I am supposed to be writing a talk to give on Saturday at an Emmaus Forth Day event. If you don't know what Emmaus is look it up here. Our theme is Being Refreshed. I am one of 3 speakers. I have ideas. I have stories. I have bible verses but am still working on getting it into a cohesive talk of sufficient length that is understandable.

Soooo.... in avoiding that today I thought I would do an update on my goals for this month.

• Make some pot mitts, hanging towels etc as gifts

I haven't looked at making any pot mitts etc as gifts but have worked on the wall hangings. I hope to be able to give some of them to family and friends this Christmas. I have 4 sets of squares together. Have to work on the borders and then sandwiching them. Have a few not put together yet

• prepare for Bonnie Hunter Mystery

Haven't looked at the Bonnie Hunter Mystery quilt yet. Must order the rulers - think I will suggest them to the family for Christmas or get them for my stocking. I buy most of the stuff for the stockings so ensure I get lots of special little treats.

• start Droid quilt

This quilt hasn't been started... soon

• Put Amy Gibson blocks together

Amy Gibson quilt hasn't been looked at. I think I have one block not made... the curved pieced one. Contemplating whether to make it or not but really think I should so as to have done the full thing.

Work on POD Quilt

I have actually made a bit of progress. Not only have I sewn all the bookshelf rows together, putting in the bookshelves between them as I went as well as the top and bottom of the bookshelf but I have removed all the paper (well lot of the paper... some bits still there.... ) I have also completed the Fez, the flying keys, the Cornish Pixie, Dobby and 2 of the photo frame blocks.

    

Today I got on Spoonflower and took advantage of their half price sale on Fat Quarters. I've ordered some labels for bottles of Potions, (chose 2 lots of that) the folded Marauders map and Ravenclaw panel. Not exactly sure how I am going to use them. I think the map will go under the bookshelf and perhaps a bottle of potion.

And I have made 65 hexies all done in meetings. So will get to that 100 without trouble... have a full day of meetings on Saturday which (apart from when I am giving my talk) will be ample time to stitch hexies... will have to make sure I have heaps of them prepped and ready to go. I need to make around 400 more to have enough for the quilt. (including the half ones to finish off the ends)

 

 So that is pretty good progress when you consider we are only one week in. Go me.

November Goals and a review of October's Goals

Can't believe its a new month. I haven't made much progress on October's goals. It got away on me somewhat. I didn't even get to update the goals on my sidebar. Oops. Anyway my goals 

• Complete Amy Gibson Blocks  then sew blocks together 

nothing done with these. I forgot to take them with me when I went away

I did well over this number... not sure how many I had to start the month but now have over 1000 made. Go me

September Goal Review and October goals

Here it is the 3rd day of september and I am yet to do my review of last months goals or put up some for October.

lets kick off with September Goals

POD Quilt

These are both completed and I have got the 30 weekly

Raggy Hearts Quilt

• Complete Raggy Hearts quilt. 

I got the Raggy Hearts quilt completed and sent off to my 

friend Linda who is currently undergoing treatment for 

breast cancer

• Complete Pink Pizzazz 

This quilt involved putting together blocks made by our quilt

 group. It is done now and is to be given to a group 

fundraising for breast cancer

• Complete Going Green quilt

This quilt was completed and sent off to a friend who has recently

 undergone surgery and had a number of complications and so had

 a longer than expected recovery. Its now on her bed.

• Make 30 Hashtag blocks for Twilters Swap 

The Twilters on Facebook are having a block swap using the

 wonky hashtag block (or pound sign as it was called by Amy

 Gibson) I have completed mine... made 33 but 3 of them were

 stuffed up so I kept them and sent the other 30 off. Well actually

 Lindy has them to send off for me. She will keep one of mine and

 will send 2 of mine and 2 of hers to the other Aussie Twilters and

 send the rest overseas for the group swap.

I am not putting down any of the POD blocks this month even

 though I would love to work on them because I am very busy the

 next few days and then on Friday we are going away for 3 weeks. I

 can take sewing with me but with the POD blocks I feel I need

 access to all my fabric to sew the blocks and I won't have this

 whilst we are travelling. We will be visiting family but I still hope

 to be able to sew. We are undecided yet as to whether we are

 taking our camper trailer or will stay in the house with family and

 motels at other times.

Tuesday Museday - mid month review

Its half way through the month already and time for a goal review. I don't seem to have made much progress but I know I have ... really

1) POD quilt. Make the last "weekly" block (no 30) Remake block 11 and work on some other extras to go around the bookshelf.

The reason I haven't made as much progress as I would have liked to is that I have made a whole other quilt. I added this to my side bar of goals after I made my initial goals. I made the raggy hearts from our club swap into a quilt which I have posted off to my friend.

September Goals

September is already under way.... Spring is Sprung in Australia.

 Time for some new goals to see us through this month.

The last two of these are pretty open ended so will give me lots of scope to work on some things that have been sitting there without having to be too specific. Gives me the opportunity to test the water and see what is going to excite me.

End of the Month Goal Review - August,

Just read someone else's goal review and they gave themselves a C- for this month and I got a feeling I am going to do worse than that.

My big failure has been POD. I haven't worked on it AT ALL. I blame my hexagons that have kind of taken over my home sewing time. Anyway Lets go through all of them

1) POD Block. I wanted to complete block 30, remake block 11 and also make the broomstick, the sword of Griffindor, the flying key, photo frame and Dobby. I did nix - nothing - zip

2) Amy Gibson Blocks. I didn't specify a number in the original post but did on my sidebar (6) and that might have freed me up cause I went crazy on these and got HEAPS of them made. - I made 11 including one that I made twice. I only have the curved piecing blocks to go on this one. Its looking great.

3) Bag for my friend Sereana. I got this made. I don't think it is quite what she had wanted (she had asked me to make it) but it was so long between when she had asked and when I did it I had forgotten. Anyway she seemed fairly happy with it in the end. (It had some of my favourite fabric in it so hope she was)

4) Pink Pizzazz. I already had the top done at the beginning of the month although I was wondering about making it bigger. Well I didn't make it any bigger but I did piece a back for it and it is ready to be pinned and quilted. I had hoped to have it pinned by now but....

5) Going Green. At the beginning of the month I had the centre completed but was still thinking about what to do with the borders. I ended up making flying geese borders and also adding a mostly plain green border. I then got the back pieced which as usual seemed to take me a while. Now to pin baste it and get it quilted.

So that is it - overachieved on one goal, completed another, partially achieved 2 more (although I don't think I put  finish Going Green, just work on it so maybe that is actually achieved) and abjectly failed one. Hmmm not TOO bad. Not an overall failure... perhaps a C+ after all or even B-

Review of my monthly goals and setting some new ones for August

Its the start of a new month so time to go back over those goals I set myself and see how I went.

My July goals got added to a little during the month but in the end this is what they were (as listed in my side bar)

• make 6 heart blocks COMPLETE
• Quilt Playing in Sunshine
• Make bag - this was for a birthday gift for a friend. I didn't get the one made for her that I had planned due to leaving the pattern and fabric behind when I went away to Yeppoon. However I gave her another one I had made earlier - a zipper one that I had used some Fijian fabric on and as my friend is from Fiji she loved it. I might transfer this goal to next month though and make her the one I intended
• complete 6 Amy Gibson BOM blocks. Absolutely no joy with this one. I left them behind too when I was away which frustrated me so much.
• Finish Newspaper Mama - top and back made. My friend Lindy now has this to get it quilted. My part is done although I will do the binding if required.
• make zipper pouches for Handmade Love stall I ended up making 2 brick bags and 12 zipper pouches
• make hand towels for Handmade Love stall - 13 completed
• Complete Growing in Christ banner. This was finished off early in the month and has been hanging at church ever since
• make Kombi Boy a beanie COMPLETE
• Make Beast's beanie COMPLETE
• Complete POD blocks 26-30. I have yet to complete the last block. I have found some jelly bead fabric for the last block and will get it made shortly. 
• Finish Crop Circles This is done and on the bed
• Finish Scrap in a Box This is also completed and on the bed.

So I have done very well with all my goals for the month with only the Amy Gibson blocks, one bag and the last POD block not accomplished. I have started another quilt and made a number of other projects that never made it to my goals list so am well pleased.

Now for August!

I want to complete the POD quilt. As well as Block 30 I want to remake one block (waiting on fabric coming from the USA for that) I would also like to make the broomstick, the sword of Griffindor, the flying key, a photo frame and Dobby. I am going away for 10 days shortly and perhaps can work on them then.

Amy Gibson Blocks I will take this with me too. I might have more luck with them than the paper piecing - need so many little bits for the paper piecing.

Going Green - a quilt I am currently working on. I have the centre together but working on the borders. I would like to have the top completed this month and if possible get the back done and the quilt ready to quilt.

Bag for my friend

Pink Pizzazz - the community quilt I have been working on. I have the top together for this. I need to make the backing and get it quilted. At least I think the top is together. I may yet decide to make it a bit bigger to be a useful size but its not too bad as is. 

I might leave it there for now. No doubt a few other projects will come up over the next month and I will add them to my goals as they come up

I remembered what I forgot

 I remembered the other thing I need to add to my July goals.

I have to make 3 blocks to go into quilts a group I am in is making for the children of a friend who died recently. We are a non quilting group but we have made these quilts as joint projects when there has been a significant bereavement (a child, or partner). This is the first time we have lost one of our own. We are spread around the country and so the co-ordination of the squares can get to be mind boggling. In the past I have been one of the coordinators of the quilts (the first one we made was my idea ) and I have also been the quilter of a few of them. This time I am not as involved... although I might end up quilting one/all of them. Will have to see. I do need to make my blocks though. They are only small - 6.5" and will feature hearts. Must get my act together and get them made and posted off to the woman who is co-ordinating them

Updating July Goals

We are one third through this month so time to have a look at this month's goals.

Finish Scrap in a Box: DONE. I stitched the label on yesterday

Finish Gold cross banner: DONE Its hanging at church now

Make towels for Handmade Love stall. Started making some. I've got 13 in various stages of completion

Make zipper pouches for Handmade Love Stall. Nothing started here yet. Hopefully will get a few made before the stall.

Finish Community Quilt. This red black and white quilt now has a name ... Newspaper Mama (cause its black and white and red all over. Newspaper mama is also a kids song by Peter Coombes that my kids loved when younger) The top has been assembled and now working out what to put on the back.

Amy Gibson blocks. Haven't looked at this. Was hoping to do 6 this month... hmmm might end up being 8 for next month.

POD Blocks 27 - 30. Have patterns for 27 and 28 printed out but haven't made them yet... today maybe - or tomorrow

Make beanie for Kombi Boy. DONE

So I've made a fair start for the month. Must get a photo of those beanies on heads and the completed quilts......

July Goals

Its the start of a new month and for me that means setting some new goals for this month.

Finish Scrap in a Box: This is currently at the long armer (my friend Kym from Professional Quilting Service) and is due to be posted back to me this week. When it gets here I have to make and attach the binding and label it.

Finish Crop Circles: This too is currently at the long armer and when it gets home it has to be bound and labelled. It will be great to have 2 big finishes one on top of the other

Finish Gold cross banner: Oh boy - this is already done. I started to write this list Monday and I got it finished off on Tuesday but hey... it gets to go on the list. I hope to hang it in church for Sunday. I've named it Growing in Christ. I really love it and hope it adds to the worship of our congregation.

Make towels for Handmade Love stall. We have a stall at the end of the month and I want to get a stack made. I have a lot of towels in the box ready to have the handles put on them

Make zipper pouches for Handmade Love Stall. I have a heap of zippers and the pouches have proved popular. I have some plastic backed curtaining that I am going to try for a lining on some to make them more suitable as toiletry bags.

Finish Community Quilt. This is my Wednesday project for when I am at Patchwork. The quilt centre is together and we have started work on the borders. We want to add a narrow red border and then the black and white square in a square border and then.... another narrow red border and bind it in red as well.

Amy Gibson blocks. Haven't made any of these for a couple of months. I would like to do 6 this month to catch up

POD Blocks 27 - 30. This will be the finish of the blocks.... then to put it together. I have decided to not do labels on the books. Some have them on already but it wasn't really adding to them so I'm going to stop

Complete Beasts beanie. Its on the ring. With several hours in the car coming up I am hoping to get it finished by the end of the weekend.

Make beanie for Kombi Boy. He's asked for a dark grey beanie. I have to buy the wool... this weekend hopefully I will be able to get some.

If I get all this done I shall be really pleased. There may well be a couple of extra projects sprung on me as well but for the moment that will do!!

June Goal update

Its the end of the month so time for update on my goals. At the beginning of the month I set the following goals

Make beanies for my three boys - I have made one for Boyo and have started one for Beast. Kombi Boys hasn't been started

Complete 2 zipper pouches for Hand Made Love's stall. I have made 6

Complete POD Blocks 21-25. These have all been completed

Work on Community Quilt at Patchwork. Lindy and I have been working away on this. The centre is together and we have most of the first border done

Complete Scrapitude- Scrap in a Box. This quilt too is off to the longarmers. We were messaging each other today about it and chose the quilting pattern for it. I won't get it finished by the end of the month as I had planned but should be done within a week or so

Work on Patch n Peace Mystery Quilt. This quilt top has been completed and is currently at the longarmers. I've called it Crop Circles. Kym and I were talking about this one today on facebook and chose a nice pattern for it too. We are continuing on with the circle theme but with some swirls as well.

Sew 2 Amy Gibson blocks. For the second month in a row I haven't worked on these. Hopefully next month!!!

Monday Musing - Setting June Goals

The first day of the month - almost half way through the year - wow.

Time to think through what my goals for June will be

Complete POD Blocks for the month and do the last one for this month ie blocks 21 22 23 24 25. I have already started on block 21. If I'd pushed it I might have got it done last night but was feeling a bit tired so NOT the time to tackle a double paper pieced block... which has all sorts of extra bits cause there are 3 different ways of doing it. I did something I NEVER do... cut up all the sheets into bits... and yeah now I am confused by what goes where. Might have to reprint some pages to get myself sorted out.

Complete Scrapitude quilt. The clue has been up for a couple of weeks now. This will be a project on my quilting retreat

Complete Mystery Quilt top at Patch n Peace. I am prepped and ready for this. I was supposed to be leaving Thursday midday to drive down to Yeppoon for it but now I have a funeral to go to and so won't leave till Friday morning.

Complete 2 Amy Gibson blocks. If I can I would love to do a few more but we shall see. I will print off patterns and take them with me this weekend

Make zipper pouches for Handmade Love stall. This is on the coming weekend but when I am being realistic - I don't know when I will get anything made. I guess I will just try to make some over the month to go into the stall.

Start beanies for The Beast, Kombi Boy and Boyo. To do this I am going to have to go buy some wool. I'll have to go to Spotlight whilst I am in Rockhampton over the weekend.

These are my goals. Other things may well crop up over the month - they usually do. I might slip an extra one in

Work on putting blocks together for another community quilt. There are 2 more sets of blocks to get made into blocks. Then we might start another BOM. This is something I can do up at the patchwork rooms at our gatherings on Wednesday. I won't get to it this week though because its our local Agricultural show and our show holiday. 

This is also my post for A Lovely Year of Finishes. My goal for June, my finish for this term will be to finish off my Scrapitude quilt

May Goals Review

Believe it or not its the end of May and time to review my goals that I set back at the beginning of the month. I am disappointed to have not completed them all but I did give them a fair crack so can't be too hard on myself. My Goals are listed in the side bar of my blog and they were

• trace off hand stitching project - COMPLETE - I wanted a project to take away with me in May, especially to do whilst I was with travelling and also sitting with my mum. I combined this with another goal
• Anzac Item for Show COMPLETE This was part of my hand project (above) I got the quilt completed in time to enter into our local show just in time... it was finished Thursday and had to be entered Saturday.
• Finish Fangirls Dr Who quotes wall hanging COMPLETE Fangirl asked me to turn a cross stitch she had done into a wallhanging

The blocks in the POD challenge come thick and fast. I was up to date at the beginning of the month but was away so much and busy that as of yesterday I was 4 behind. I managed to get 3 done over the weekend so now have just block 21 to do 

• Block 17 POD challenge COMPLETE
• Finish Judy's Bluebird Quilt COMPLETE
• Block 18 POD challenge COMPLETE
• Block 19 POD challenge COMPLETE
• Block 20 POD challenge COMPLETE

• Block 21 POD Challenge still to be done - ran out of time this weekend.

• sew 2 blocks from Amy Gibson's BOM This is the big wah wah (sad trombone sound as Pam from Hip to Be a Square would say) Haven't even looked at it. Might get back into it next month
• complete May Step in Scrapitude. Sadly Charlotte who organises this had a death in her family and so the clue was late coming up. If it had come out on time I think I would have just squeaked some time to work on the quilt but when the quilt came out later in the month I was so far behind there was no chance to get on with it. 

May Goals check in

Its almost half way through May... time to check in on how I am going with my goals.

• Blog regularly - WIP Wednesday, Fitness Friday and Sunday Stash Report for a start with Monday Musing/Tuesday Museday thrown in. Throwback Thursday... maybe but going to have to go to topics other than quilts.

This hasn't happened. Maybe I was a bit burnt out from blogging everyday in April. Going away for 10 days at the beginning of the month hasn't helped much either. I didn't have my lap top with me, just my iPad and I don't find that easy to blog with. My son, with whom I stayed did have a laptop but he was on it a fair bit. I did use it to put up my WIP Wednesday post but that was it. There has been nothing to report stash wise so no movement (nothing in nothing out basically) and my Fitness has been SOOO woeful who wants to talk about that.

•  POD blocks. I got block 17 done before I went away but obviously couldn't do the one that came out the day after I left...

• Judy's Bluebird Quilt.- have the top together and the borders made but not attached.

• Scrapitude The last clue was due to be released this week but sadly Charlotte, the woman behind it had a tragedy in her family so it has been postponed

• Sew 2 blocks from the 2012 Amy Gibson BOM Craftsty class. - nothing done - no time with machine

• Make Fangirl's Doctor Who Quote cross stitch into a wall hanging for her swap. Got this done before I left. Yay.

• ANZAC related entry for the show. Fangirl is working on her cross stitch block and I have completed my 4 embroidery blocks. Still have to print out photos and put the thing together. I have worked out the design

• Hand Stitching project - trace off patterns and stitch them. I incorporated this withthe above goal. My hand stitching project had an Anzac theme.

• Watch at least one Craftsy class right through. I had all the classes downloaded to my iPad but something went wrong with the ap and I had to delete it and reload. This happened whilst I was away. I had managed to get the Joen Wolfrom class Colour Play for Quilters watched right through on my trip down. I had started to watch a bag class too. I was disappointed as I was planning on doing the painting exercise from Joen's class and had even bought the paints and other supplies whilst I was away but wanted to refresh exactly what I had to do and couldn't. I have it downloaded again now I am home and hope to get this done soon

Its a Goal!! April Goal Wrap up and setting my May Goals

April is over and I have to say... Success! Yes I accomplished ALL of my April Goals. I didn't think I would given how things were looking with a week to go but have made great strides this week. They are listed in my sidebar but to recap.

Work on Judy's Bluebird Quilt -done. This month I have sashed all the blocks and put them together. Haven't started the borders yet.

Blogging A to Z Challenge. - done. I put up a blog post every day. I was able to relate all my posts to my patchwork in some way. It was lots of fun

Blue Pinwheel Quilt. I finished sewing the binding today. My finger is a bit sore as I forgot to take my thimble with me to our get together but its done

And now for MAY

New month coming up... a whole new slate on which to write. I am not going to write a blog post every day but hopefully I can get back into my regular blog writing. I'll make that a goal

• Judy's Bluebird Quilt. I almost have the top together. I would love to get it finished for my sister to be able to take it back to Sydney with her after her towards the end of May. So Finish Bluebird Quilt
• Scrapitude Charlotte will release the last clue in Scrapitude this month. That will be the putting together along with the borders and sashing. I hope that I can get the top put together this month... or at least do some work on it.

I am going to be away for 10 days this month (at least) I leave on Sunday to fly to Melbourne to be with our oldest son,  Massage Man (whose name must change since he is no longer doing the massage course) He is having 4 wisdom teeth out next week and I'm going to look after him. Once he is on the road to recovery (hopefully by Sunday) I will fly to Sydney and have a couple of days with my mum and see my sisters before flying home again.  Then not long after I get back one of my sisters is coming to visit. She is also a crafter so sitting and stitching with her won't be a problem but in her 10 days here we are planning a couple of overnight trips... so that is going to cut into sewing time. To this end I am planning on a hand stitching project. Not sure quite which one yet. I have some Doctor Who ones and also a gorgeous pattern from my sister-in-law Christine concerning a sewing room. Might do both.

Given I am going away I had better call it quits there or I will be putting myself under too much pressure! I might add though
