Its been 10 days since I wrote my October Goals down. I got in early, before I left home and so time enough for a review. I am doing it now whilst I have reasonable internet connection too... its been pretty patchy on the trip to date and I haven't been able to post when I have wanted to (hence I missed Sunday Stash review and last weeks WIP Wednesday)
My Goals were
Work on 6 Christmas Stockings, 4 commissions and 2 private - I have made most of the fronts of 3 of them. The buyer wants names embroidered on the tops of them and I haven't worked out how I am going to do that yet. The pieces for the other 3 are cut out ready to go.
Make 25 zipper pouches, commission for Handmade with Love. - These are all done and I posted them off to the buyer today.
Work on hand projects. I had hoped to prep some applique work to bring away with me but didn't get to it. Instead I have been doing some crocheting. I've made 3 water bottle carriers and working on a 4th. I have also made one cowl. Its a bit hot to look at that though at the moment.
Work on projects for Handmade With Love. I have made 7 hanging hand towels using some of the licensed fabrics. I have lots of other projects prepped ready to go when I get to them. (The zipper pouches and Christmas Stockings are for HWL too)
Decide on design for Suzu's quilt - Suzu is my Japanese grand daughter (the daughter of our 2004 Japanese host son) I had hoped to bring the project with me but as I still haven't decided this is on hold and won't get done this month. I guess though the goal is to decide on a design so I can keep thinking about that
Work out design for Mystery Quilt - After a bit of fluffing about and a few false starts I finally got a design worked out and the centre of the quilt is together. I have also made the outer border but haven't attached it as I have decided to add a narrow inner border and I dont' have the fabric for that. I might buy some whilst we are travelling (if I find a patchwork fabric shop) or might wait till I get home and use some stuff I know I have there.
Work on String Quilt - this is as yet untouched apart from having cut the backing bits for the string bits (42 rectangles) and having sorted through the 1.5 and 2" strips (and washed the ones the cat pee'ed on )
Work on Doily quilt - I have cut the doilies up - now have a heap of 6.5" blocks to put together as well as the some smaller bits that I will need to make up to 6.5" blocks. I don't have the fabric for the sashing and corner stones with me unless I use the stuff I have for the string quilt (I will probably have oodles) I want to lay the embroideries out so as to get an idea of what colour to use.
So given that it is really only 5 days into the month I have made a pretty good start on these goals.
How about you? Have you made a start on your goals for this month? Have you worked out what it is you want to work on? I find setting out some goals really helps motivate me to get stuff done. Next month I hope to have reactivated my linky account and will be able to put one here for you all to let us know what your goals for the month will be
